VIDEOworkCASE is a video-sculpture and video-installation in public space

Eight flatscreens are being mounted facing to the outside on eight glass fronts of the two opposing staircases situated on Willy Brandt Platz. On these screens video works  specifically designed for eight screens. Each of the participating artists exhibits one videowork in the form of an installation for the period of a week.

The open character of the spatial situation as well as the surrounding architecture and the name of the square (Willy-Brandt-Platz) allow environment-related video works. The artworks can formulate a detail oriented, thematic and critical reaction to the immediate surrounding, as well as a historical examination of the square, the city and and her presence.

> detailed concept

VIDEOworkCASE is in equal measure a video-sculpture and video-installation, art in public space and a spatial installation at the same time. The implicit spectrum of impact  institutes VIDEOworkCASE a broad scope of properties in regards to an interactive cultural communication. The expected outcome is to exhibit art, which communicates and experiments laboratory-like with the cultural context of the surrounding square. In order to foster the interactive pretence of VIDEOworkCASE, the integration of a large scope of themes is being desired.

The basic principle of VIDEOworkCASE is that of an open system, which aims to integrate ambient impulses. At same time it is intended as a venue for impressions. Action-packed, progressive as well as profound and reflexive elements are specifically encouraged. Critical questions in relation to the urban situation will be taken on as well as it is intended to integrate the critical viewer.
